John Green was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1977. However, his family moved to Orlando, Florida soon after his birth. He graduated from Kenyon College in 2000 with a double major in English and Religious Studies. He wrote his first novel in 2005, Looking for Alaska, which quickly became successful. He continued to write young adult novels such as An Abundance of Katherines (2006) and Paper Towns (2008). He eventually collaborated on Will Grayson Will Grayson with his friend and fellow young adult literature author DavidLevithan in 2010. John Green’s latest book is The Fault in Our Stars (2012). John Green now lives in his birthplace of Indianapolis with his wife Sarah and his son Henry.
David Levithan was born in Short Hills, New Jersey in 1972. He received a double major in English and Political Science from Brown University. At 19, he entered into an internship with Scholastic, where he continues editing to this day. In addition to editing, he also written several novels, including Boy Meets Boy (2003) and Will Grayson Will Grayson (2010), which he co-authored with John Green. A theme in his works is to include strong homosexual characters.
